Krkonoše Mountaineer 2021

Objective of the call

The aim of the challenge is to visit the following 20 peaks of the Krkonoše Mountains during the year, 17 from the Krkonoše Mountains and 3 from the Krkonoše foothills. The author of the challenge is Kaca, who lives in the Giant Mountains and is part of the Klimeš clan, who are known in the Giant Mountains for running the information centre in Pec pod Sněžkou and Temný dol and for publishing the magazine Veselý výlet.

Rules

To visit the top of the challenge means to climb to the very top of the mountain and log your visit in the Horobraní app. You must be a registered Horobraní user running the full version.

Rewards

The Krkonoše Mountain Man Challenge is supported by the Czech brand 3F Vision and Veselý výlet. At the beginning of 2022, we will randomly draw 7 successful mountaineers, where one will receive a pair of sports glasses from 3F and the other six will receive a beautiful My Merry Trip diary with a Krkonoše theme.

3F is a Czech brand from Rudnik, near the Krkonoše Mountains, which produces modern sports glasses for summer and winter activities. 3F has been around since 2006 and currently distributes in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Ireland and the Netherlands.

Veselý výlet is a brand of quality service and care for tourists who come to explore the beauty of the Eastern Giant Mountains. The Klimeš family, who have lived in the Giant Mountains for generations, runs an information centre in Horní Maršov and Pec pod Sněžkou, provides accommodation in a guesthouse and also publishes a magazine with a Giant Mountains theme called Veselý výlet. They provide their guests and tourists with useful tourist information, prepare an enriching programme, and their repertoire also includes the restoration of cultural heritage and community building for local people.

Rewards from the Merry Trip are beautiful diaries for 2022 by Lenka Klimesova. This year's theme she chose stories of couples who have lived or are living in the Giant Mountains. You will learn about the Pohl family business that has provided amazing services on Sněžka for generations. In March, in addition to stories about the life of the mayor of Malá Úpa, you will also get a map for stamps from the thousand mountains in the village. Historical photos, recipes and various puzzles will illustrate a must-have accessory for 2022, not only for the Krkonoše lady!
