Erzgebirge Stonebreaker

The Summer Stone Challenge is designed to motivate people to visit 12 selected peaks in the Ore Mountains. Those who complete the entire challenge will receive the honorary title of Erzgebirge Stone Mountaineer and will be entered into a draw for a gift package from the Erzgebirge Destination Agency .

And why the Stone Challenge?

The history of the Erzgebirge has been linked to the mining of minerals of various kinds since the Middle Ages, but they were always present in only trace amounts in the ore mined. At first glance, therefore, miners were mining stones. That is why we encourage you to visit the dozen Erzgebirge peaks that have been given their name by stone, whether it is Kamenáč, Kamenec or Kamenná Hůrka. You have the whole summer to do it ⛺⛰️🌞.

All those who complete the challenge from 21 June to 22 September 2024 will be entered into a draw for a gift package from the Erzgebirge Destination Agency. 5 winners can look forward to the prize.

The Erzgebirge Destination Agency, z.s. started its activities on 1 February 2023 and their mission is to bring people together. Come and explore this beautiful and unspoilt piece of nature that holds a legacy of history.
