Czech Republic Lookout Towers

The long-awaited challenge with lookout towers on the peaks is here. The great news for everyone is that this challenge is lifetime, with no time limit, and applies backwards from the beginning of the Horobrani. If you like hills and a nice view to boot, you'll enjoy a challenge like this a lot because there will always be a reward waiting for you on the hill in the form of a lookout tower.

The aim of the challenge is to explore the various lookout towers in the Czech Republic. We have divided the lookout towers into logical groups according to regions. To complete the first level of the challenge, you need to visit 100 arbitrary peaks from the selection. The other levels are graded in 100 increments.

Selection of lookout towers
We have selected mountains and hills that have a lookout tower on their peak or in their close vicinity. Most of the lookout towers are located on the highest plateau of the hill, however, there are a few that are in the hillside and we have made an exception for these if they are within 200 m or so of the summit. It was quite difficult to decide which tower to include and which not to, so we openly say that this call is not a complete list of towers in the Czech Republic. We have also added a few towers that are located on hills without an official name. In this case, we named the new peaks the same as the name of the lookout tower and wrote this information to the description of the peak. And the last specifics were the peaks that were located in the field, there we moved the peak elevation slightly from the field to the road closer to the lookout.
