Explorer 2025

This challenge is for serious adventurers. You have the opportunity to explore the peaks of all the lands we have in Hory.app. To complete the challenge, your task is to visit at least 5 peaks during 2025 that have never been visited in the history of the Hory.app, while adding a summit photo to your first ascent. The very best will also be to write a comment about the availability of the peak, but this is not a mandatory requirement.

Only ascents made between 1 Jan - 31 Dec 2025 count towards the challenge. If you have any ultra-first ascents in the past, it is not enough to upload a photo now for them to count towards the challenge.

You will complete the challenge if you reach level 1 (5 ultra first entries). For the ambitious, there's also level 2 (15 ultra-first ascents) and level 3 (30 ultra-first ascents).

Attention! This is not an easy thing to do and it is not always possible to log the top at any cost! Sometimes you will definitely find that a peak you've booked simply won't be visited for some reason. For example, inaccessible or dangerous terrain, fencing, grazing, private land, etc. will prevent you from reaching the summit. This is to say that it doesn't always work out and that's OK! Leave the highlight and rather report it to us with a description of the problem via the reporting system via the app and we will restrict, add a note or even ban it. This will greatly help others to either not attempt the climb or only in a certain way or path.

You have plenty of opportunities to visit peaks all over Europe. How do you find peaks that have never been climbed before? Go to the Hory.app website to the MAP tab and use the FILTER (funnel). Here you will set up filtering according to the number of visitors and click on the item NO ONE HAS VISITED. The active filter will glow yellow, reset the filter after exploring to show all the highlights and the filter will turn off.

We're still working on improving the peaks database and will definitely be increasing international updates for each country this year. If you're heading somewhere abroad, it's ideal to research the area on a map beforehand and compare our map of the mountains with that country's geoportal map. It is possible that some peaks are missing from our database and we can add them before your trip. You can find the websites of the geoportals we use as verification sources on our website under the MOUNTAINS tab.

This challenge really isn't for everyone, so consider if it's not beyond you!

If you succeed, it's a great reason to rejoice. That's also why we've decided to award all Explorers who reach level 3 (30 ultra-first ascents) with a diploma and a public commendation. Because with your courage you are paving a safe path for other Hory.app users.
