Endurance Runner 2026

Challenge duration

1. 1. 2026–31. 12. 2026

Description

The aim of the challenge is to stay fit all year round and maintain your pace every month throughout the year. We have chosen three levels for this year. Each month, you must complete 10 (level 1), 20 (level 2), 50 (level 3) climbs and, newly added at your request, 100 (level 4) for the most accomplished Horobraníky.

On the progress tab, you can see how you are doing each month and at each level.

Rules

To complete this challenge, you must follow the general rules.

To become a true mountain endurance runner, you must complete a certain number of climbs each month of the year as part of Horobraní:

1. Level: 10 climbs per month and at least 120 climbs in 2026 Level
2: 20 climbs per month and at least 240 climbs in 2026 Level
3: 50 climbs per month and at least 600 climbs in 2026 Level
4: 100 ascents per month and at least 1,200 ascents in 2026

You can repeat ascents to the same peaks.

Another useful rule is the JOKER. The joker represents a break, meaning that in any given month, you do not have to meet your goal of 10-20-50-100 ascents. One month a year, you simply do not have to make a single ascent and still be part of the challenge. You can use the joker, but you do not have to. It's more of a lifeline in case of illness, injury or holiday. The joker is applied automatically if you have a month where you don't meet the given number of climbs (you don't have to do anything for this). Just remember that if you use the joker, you have to make up for those climbs in another month in order to reach the given number of climbs for the year.

Another rule concerns joining the challenge during the year. Yes, it is possible, but only for new users who were unable to complete the challenge from the beginning of the year. In this case, the 10-20-50-100 climb requirement for new Horobraník users begins the month after the month in which they registered for Horobraní. Example: As a newcomer, I registered on 3 April and collected 8 peaks during April. I can still complete any level of the Endurance Challenge if I meet the required number of climbs each month from May to December and have a total corresponding to the given level at the end of the year (nothing is deducted or reduced here). Newcomers to Horobraník can, of course, also use a joker.

It may happen that you are trying to reach a higher level, but during the year you fall to a lower number of ascents. If you manage at least 10 ascents per month, you are at level 1. To successfully complete the challenge, you need to complete at least the lowest level 1.

On the challenge page, you will always see your current status for each month. If the month is green, you are still in the game; if one month is red, you can use your joker, but if you have more than one red month, you will not continue in the Endurance Challenge. We will evaluate the challenge and publish all Endurance Challengers for 2025 in January 2026.
