Challenge duration
Description
This challenge is a combination of both fun and endurance. What is it about? The basics are very simple – you have to complete a certain number of days, visiting at least six peaks on each day. To complete the first level of the challenge, you only need to go on 15 such trips throughout the year. In 2025, more than 900 people succeeded, so it's not that difficult a challenge. The next levels will require 30 and 60 days.
But that's not all! As the name of the challenge suggests, it's all about cutting out - specifically, cutting out a map! Each trip you take will create a picture of the area you visited. Imagine that each climb to a peak on the map is connected by a line and the entire shape is closed by connecting the last peak visited that day with the first one visited. The best shapes will probably be created by trips that are more circular than crossings. But who knows? Even a mountain crossing can create an interesting map :-)
However, to complete the challenge, it is essential to have more than six ascents per day. But there is plenty of room for creating interesting images!
The challenge is somewhat interactive in that each image must be generated manually on the challenge page. The image can be updated even after it has been created for the first time.
We are curious to see what shapes you can create and look forward to you showing them off!
